IDIOT!!!

Totally missed my connection cause I had my head so far up my... well you know.

Can't believe it, I never imagined this happening. This totally sucks, I was so looking forward to spinning the legs fresh tonight and tomorrow for the first big showdown tomorrow night. Hopefully things turn around and a spin in the morning will work just fine for the legs.

Oh, while running to the gate I messed up the left calf area. Can't quite point out what happened but hopefully its nothing major; just a tight ass calf from running for the first time in who knows how long. Already on the prowl for someone to give me a dandy rub when I get in.

F@*k I'm an idiot.
This past weekend was a fun one.

Finally got on the track for the first time this year to race. Boy o Boy I have no track legs. Still got my brains to race a good miss and out. But the legs had a no show for the rest of the other races.

Sunday I decided to do Mt Hamilton in support of Riggs. Not much support if ya ask me, or him. I did take his arm warmers. lol. Its a really long climb, seemed like it would never stop. The decent was dandy, almost passed on twice. Got to make sure I run better pads for the carbons next time I do some big time descending.

Monday was the grand'ol Memorial Day crit. Felt good, it started out looking like a field sprint; but last minute a break went. Erek and I gave a real good digger with 3 to go, but no good. AndyJM stacked it hard into a pole on the finale. From all the reports he seems to be getting better. Best wishes on getting him getting better.

I'm off to Tulsa today, boarding the plane here shortly. Got a solid team this year, no real direct leader; all of us are ready to step up. Hopefully I come home with money in my pocket.

Try to give a daily update, the first crit is a night crit; so it'll probably be a morning report.

Ready to race.

It ain't Tulsa Weak, it's TULSA TOUGH! BK

PS. My cruiser is SAAAAWEET!!
Been a good week, done some awesome motor work with the father. Can defiantly feel the rpm's coming up.

So last weekend was fun. Sat was the crit, I'm glad the girlfriend motivated me to race cause I sure wasn't in the mindset to race after the week I had. The race went well, I mean as well as it could for me not riding the 2 days prior. Erek and I's plan was to chill and seek out any dangerous breaks that got a gap. Within the first 15min or so a break of 8 or so went, we bridged with a few guys and ramped up the speed to drop some of the weight. The break never got a huge gap, but eventually got smooth a started to make some time. I cracked after 25 min or so in the break, the legs and lungs had nothing. I was hacking out all sorts of stuff. But hey Erek was sitting pretty and riding strong. I floated back to the pack and road the last 10 laps or so spinning all the mess out of my body. With all the money up the road the set up from the group gallop was a mess. I opted out to watch Erek duke it out. Jamiel from Sierra jumped with just under a lap to go, Erek hesitated just a second to long; but came close by the line.

The road race was a spectacular event. A huge field of 15 showed up, and some were allergic to the wind. With all jokes aside about waiting for the 3's that opted out not to join fields, I started off the attacks after the first few miles. From there on out Erek and I swapped attacks tell the small field didn't want to chase. Erek got off the front with Akita Wong. A small group off 4 started to chase. And the rest of the field was content on watching Jamiel. Jamiel and I waited for the right time to bridge. We went, caught the small group of 4, sat on them for a k or so then went straight to Erek and his partner. Once we caught them we were gone. After establishing our gap, we started to just roll threw not killing ourselves. With 2 to go Erek told me he wanted to start racing his bike again. I tried to convince hi
+m otherwise and wait it out, I really wasn't in the mood to do some time trialing. Erek took the bull by the horns and attacked after the feed zone. Luckily enough they didn't jump right on him so I didn't have to counter attack. Jamiel had to do some quite funny convincing to get Wong to join in the chase. After a lap of soloing away on the windy course they gave up. Tried to make a bargain about rolling threw so we didn't get caught by the other chasers. I attacked to see what the legs were feeling like. A NO GO!!! Felt horrible, now it was game on, now more free ride for me. The other chasers caught us with 3/4th's lap to go. Attack went left, attack went left right, I didn't want anything to get away so we could go for a 1, 2. Going in to the final left turn with 800m or so to go 2 guys went and I was in a great spot. With Jamiel on my wheel I felt the pressure and went early, Jamiel waited and came around me in the last 30m or so. I was happy with the race, 1 3 and Ereks second on Sat.

This past week has been good, I finally feel mostly healthy and have a smile on my face. This weekend is a great local weekend. The track is gonna be open for some racing on sat. Sun is my first attempt at Mt. Hamilton, and the always fun Memorial day crit in my back yard. I always enjoy this race, it has played out almost differently every year. Plus the 4th annual BBQ should be great.

Time to have some fun tomorrow. And keep the mind free.

What a week.

So the past weekend went well. My teammate Erek Riggs won the Berkeley Hills RR in a sweet fashion. Another teammate Alex Boyd won the Collegiate RR, and I picked up a field sprint at a local crit. YAY! That means the team is riding super well, and should be ready for action come the beginning of next month.

On sat I sold my first car. It was hard to depart with her, but she had to go. I had some awesome times in that car. So with the money I got from that, I bought me that cruiser from the last post for my b-day that's coming up shortly. That thing rides so smooth, the 3 inch tires roll well and soak up everything. I plan on doing a few upgrades to make it look more like a board tracker here shortly. Brooks saddle and some sweet mustache bars are on the way. AH just talking about it makes me smile inside. Should be ready for Memorial day.

On a down note, I'm wrecked again. I woke up in the middle of the night with a super sore throat. It was painful to swallow anything. These little things hurt my morale more than anything.

Did some motor pacing yesterday with the father. Nothing like a good motor session to spin the legs out and work the lungs.

Time for more rest, and gargling lots of salt water.

Yay!

Slid into the lycra today for a solid 2:30. It felt good after being off the bike for 3 days. What didn't feel good was all the mucous that came out of almost everywhere, for that 2:30. But I did put out the best 5 seconds of power all year near the end of the ride. Your probably laughing, like HA! 5seconds, where is that ever going to play out? Well 5seconds at that speed is 100m or so. That means bridging a gap, or sprinting for the win. That 5seconds matters. Well maybe not really.

I'm going to test system on the good'ol bears tomorrow, before actually racing them the next. The climbing there definitely hurts, but if my legs feel alright and my heads into it. I might do OK. Another race that I would just like to finish.

So my old age is clickin' over again here in the next 2 weeks, and I been looking around at some cool toys. One is the really sweet cruiser. Get'er Done
There is some other cool models they make, but this one really catches my eye. One I really like old old school Indians, plus it reminds me of an old school derny motor. Already have test road it and all that jazz. Rides some dam nice, I do think that I would actually ride it to the ice cream shop and movie place; instead of it being another bike in the garage. Plus I think it would be totally sweet to get Nitto bar, stem, post for it. Plus a sweet brooks saddle, and some other little trick gizmo's for it. But man o man those big tires make me smile. :D

Well more dreaming about other sweet sweet bike parts that might actually help me get second or third in a bike race or two.

Ride it like you stole it

In the hurt box.

My allergies put me on the cross country trip on the pain train. My head is rocked, I can't remember the last time I felt this bad. Plus having a small cold maybe? doesn't help.

Training as been set aside a small bit tell I get my head back, mentally and physically. Maybe its a well needed rest after all the stressful traveling the past month or so, eh? Life a of a bike racer.

Sleepy time.

Well the weekend had its ups and it downs.

Cats Hill went well, I couldn't really asked for more. I mean sure, I could reach for the stars; but went into the race just to finish and that's what I did. 6th is never a bad result for this race, so I'm happy with how it all turned out. I made a few mistakes here and there but i put them in my little red book to hopefully not make again.

Santa Rosa was a cluster. A big money race for the area, you would think everyone would want to race there ass of for the pay day. That wasn't the case, from my point of view it was a super negative race. No one really wanted to establish the break or they wanted a free ride tell the break was for sure. Definitely a super frustrating race. But it all comes back to that lovely saying "its bike racing". Really wish Jandy would have been there. Hope hes not too effected by some of his teammates actions.

On a positive note the fitness is climbing and Erek is gonna be crazy fast when he recovers from Georgia. And that means come June 1 people better watch out! Cause I know Alex and Spencer got there stuff together to be flying too.

I would also like to apologize for all who heard my not so nice words during the crit. Wont happen again.

*sigh*

This week seemed to take forever, time slowly ticking by. Allergies slowly whooping my a$$, sickness knocking on back door step. I've been tossing ninja stars and hand grenades at it, but its still knocking.

This weekend is some big Nor Cal racing. The always epic Cats Hill, 90min of a slaughtering hill and a shadow filled, bumpy mess of a decent. I've never seemed to do well here, always go in to the race with way to high of expectations. Its my year to just finish the dammed race. My boy Riggs should be riding well, and loves a brutal race like this. I'll do what I can for as long as I can. Sunday brings in some money to a fast race. With all the local pros off racing, should make for a doozey of a crit.

Time to look for some all natural Amazon or Native American cure, so I can pedal my bike hard this weekend.
